Palm Oil is in 50% of the packaged items in you super market. Do you even know what it is?

Palm oil kernels grow on trees and their oil used in many products all over the world. The oil is extracted from the kernels and some products use the shells as well as the fruit oil.

Palm oil is produced in Africa, Asia, North America and South America and supplied all over the world. It is a leading factor to obesity in many countries and drives global warming higher than ever. The plantations are destroying the forests, killing animals and humans alike. Indonesia is one of the leading counties manufacturing and distributing palm oil.

 

The people of Indonesia inhumanly worked, forced out of their towns and houses, and killed by the pollution the plantations they are working on.

 

Children in working and living on these plantains are exploited for work and prostitution. Children are trafficked due to lack of documentation in the villages. The government is paid by the manufacturers  and so take the lives and land of the people in these countries.

The wildlife of Indonesia are suffering due to the deforestation and brutality of the plantations. Orangutang are burned Elephants are poisoned and Tigers are murdered for being in the proximity of the plantations.

​

The people of New Zealand can change the ways of palm oil one step at a time.
